Peter B. Paris, Esquire Educated at Harvard, Wesleyan, and Stanford Universities, Mr. Paris is an experienced and talented litigator who devotes his considerable skill to devising effective strategies to achieve his clients’ goals. Mr. Paris represents public and private sector employees in labor and employment actions and disputes, including discrimination lawsuits under the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination (LAD) and other statutes. Mr. Paris also specializes in defending the rights of police officers and union members in discipline hearings, arbitrations, and collective bargaining negotiations. Before attending Stanford Law School in 1998, Mr. Paris served the City of Boston as a police officer in the inner–city Roxbury and Dorchester sections. He was also a member of the Boston Police Patrolman’s Association (BPPA). In addition, Mr. Paris supervised police misconduct investigations in Washington, D.C. Prior to that, Mr. Paris represented individual and corporate clients of two major law firms in Washington D.C. before returning to New Jersey to continue his litigation and labor practice in his home state. Mr. Paris’ background in law enforcement provides invaluable insight on behalf of his police–clients whether they have been accused of misconduct, seek to negotiate better contracts, or otherwise require a passionate and effective advocate to pursue their rights and protect their interests. In his general litigation practice, Mr. Paris primarily represents employees who have been victims of sexual harassment, racial discrimination, age discrimination, and other forms of discrimination in the workplace. Mr. Paris also represents individuals and small businesses facing various types of litigation in courts throughout the State of New Jersey. Mr. Paris appears regularly before Municipal, State, and Federal Courts in New Jersey, as well as before administrative agencies, including Public Employment Relations Commission (PERC), the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), the Merit Systems Board (MSB), the New Jersey Division of Civil Rights, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), and Office of Administrative Law (OAL).
